Ralph A. Williams, 97, of Hepburnia, passed away early Thursday morning, May 13, 2010 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born July 6, 1912 in Hepburnia Penn Township he was the son of Arthur and Mabel (Freeman) Williams. He attended the Hepburnia U.M.C. He was a farmer, had worked in road construction, had worked as a blacksmith and farrier, but for most of his working life he was a lumberman, and ran his own sawmill.
On Oct. 6, 1932 he wed Violet Thompson who preceded him in death on Feb. 17, 1977. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son Ralph “Tad” Williams Jr., an infant son Jack Williams, brothers James and Jack Williams, and a sister Virginia Dickey.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law Helen Williams of Sanborn, 2 grandchildren Mark Williams of Randolph, NY and Linda Williams of Colorado, 2 great granddaughters Heather and Christina Williams of New York, a sister Nellie Hullihen of Curwensville, a special brother-in-law John Thompson and his wife Lois of Pine Glen as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Williams will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, on May 15 at 2:00 p.m., with the Reverend Brian Vineyard officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 Noon on Saturday until time of services at 2 p.m.
