Kenneth L. Beck, age 84, of Kachmar Road, Punxsutawney, PA died May 11, 2010 at his sister’s residence in Byrnedale, PA.
He was born on June 27, 1925 in Weedville, PA. He was the son of the late Isaac Russell Beck and Nattie (Timblin) Beck.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Mary E. (Henry) Beck. She preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 2001.
He was a consultant for Eastern States Co-op now known as Agway for many years.
He was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Agriculture. He was a member of the Shriners. He enjoyed hunting, farming, gardening and working in his yard. He enjoyed helping his daughter, Bonny on her farm. He loved being with his two granddaughters.
He is survived by his daughters, Dr. Bonny Beck of Reynoldsville, PA and Barbara Sheldon of Oswego, New York, a brother, Lester L. Beck of Williamsport, PA, and four sisters, Esther L. Hakes of Williamsport, PA, Gwendolen Jacob of Erie, PA, Belva Burch of Brynedale, PA and Faye DePew of Louisville, KY, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and four sisters.
A memorial service will be held on May 15 at 2 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Rev. Luther Nelson officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
