Roberta M. “Ruby” Brocious, 85, of Clearfield, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on February 5, 1925 in Lower Burrell Twp., the daughter of Clyde and Katherine B. (Hepler) Matson.
Mrs. Brocious was a former nurses aide at Warren State Hospital, Sylvania in Brookville and Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of the West Side Church of Christ.
Mrs. Brocious was involved with the Home League of the Salvation Army, LOOM #97 and was a Senior Center volunteer.
She is survived by three children; John H. Brocious of Lakeland, FL., Terry W. Brocious of Mineral Springs, and Larry G. Brocious and his wife Janet of Clearfield, seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Hannold and her husband Harry of Fisher, PA., a brother, Dale Matson and his wife Lenore of Clarion, a sister in law, Lillian Brocious and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brocious was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry W. “Bill” Brocious who passed away on December 30, 1991, a son, Rodney L. Brocious, a daughter, Susan M. Fryberger and three brothers; Lowell Glenn Matson, Robert Matson and Clyde H. Matson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 11 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield wi\th Minister Isaiah Krause officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
