CLEARFIELD – In light of the medical emergency involving Bret Michaels, ticket sales for his Aug. 6 performance at the Clearfield County Fair have been suspended. Michaels, front-man of the glam-metal band Poison and current “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant, was hospitalized on April 22 at an undisclosed location after suffering a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage, or bleeding at the base of his brain stem. As of April 24, Michaels is listed in critical condition and under “intense observation”. Further tests are being run to discover the cause of the bleeding.
All orders placed solely for Michaels’ concert that have not yet been processed, are currently being held. Orders placed for multiple concerts that include Michaels will be filled at this time so as not to hold fairgoers tickets to the other concerts. Due to the seriousness of Michaels’ condition, Fair Officials anticipate Michaels’ Roses and Thorns Tour will be cancelled and are preparing to secure an artist of equal caliber for Aug. 6. Ticket orders already processed for the Michaels’ concert will be honored for whoever is slated to perform on Aug. 6. A refund policy may also be instated.
“I was stunned and saddened when I heard”, stated Brenda Hunter, publicity director for the Clearfield Fair and Park Board, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Bret and his family”.
