Police reported an assault at 5 p.m. Tuesday in along Second Street in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. A 40-year-old Philipsburg woman was intoxicated in the middle of the roadway. An 18-year-old Wallaceton woman escorted her from the same. Â At this time, troopers reported the two became involved in a verbal confrontation.
Both women then exited the roadway to the porch of the Philipsburg woman’s residence. The Philipsburg woman reportedly grabbed the Wallaceton woman by her throat. The Wallaceton woman pushed her to the ground and punched her.
The Philipsburg woman then reportedly began to pull the Wallaceton woman’s hair. She punched the Philipsburg woman again, yelling for her to let go of her hair.
Someone separated the two women at the scene, but the two continued to verbally argue, according to police. The Wallaceton woman entered the apartment of the Philipsburg woman who followed her inside.
While inside the apartment, the two continued to argue. The Philipsburg woman attempted to grab the Wallaceton woman by the neck again. But she was able to escape the grasp of the Philipsburg woman who kicked a mirror.
The Philipsburg woman cut herself as a result of breaking the mirror. She was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
