CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday the Clearfield County Commissioners approved enacting a voluntary burn-ban for Clearfield County.
The commissioners received the recommendation from Clearfield County Emergency Management Agency Director Josh Quigley. To make the recommendation Quigley needed 10 fire chiefs and the Department of Forestry to agree that a ban was needed.
According to the commissioners the recommendation came because of the dry conditions and lack of precipitation.
“We’re asking citizens voluntarily not to burn,” said Commissioner Mark McCracken.
