CLEARFIELD – To kick-off the celebration of the Week of the Young Child and National Library Week, April 11 – 17, Erin Wills, Youth Services coordinator at the Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, visited the PA Pre-K Counts classroom at Children’s Aid Society. Mrs. Wills read the children ‘What A Treasure!’ and lead the class in several activities related to the book.
‘What a Treasure!’, by Jane and Will Hillenbrand, is the 2010 selection for the Pennsylvania’s One Book Every One Child program which highlights early literacy development in preschoolers. The Week of the Young Child is a time to celebrate the young children in our community and highlight the value of quality early education programs. The Shaw Public Library will be hosting additional children’s activities to celebrate PA One Book Every One Child and National Library Week, for more information, please call 765-3271.
