CLEARFIELD – It’s time once again for The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre (CAST) Semi Annual Book Sale. The sale will be held at the CAST Building on April 16, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“The book donations come in year round so we have a terrific assortment,” said Ruth Loffredi, CAST executive director. “People have been wonderful about donating books and we’re enthusiastic about this continuing CAST fundraiser. Books are a form of art so CAST, being the area’s cultural arts center, is the natural place to have a book sale.
CAST has thousands of books for sale and they include about any subject imaginable for every reading taste whether the reader prefers fiction or fact, romance or mystery, history, science, nature, religion, autobiographies, how to, cooking, etc. Of course, there are many books for the young reader also.
Most of the books are priced in the 50 cents to $3.00 range. “There are many many like new books both hardback with dust covers and paperbacks. People have been so generous with their book donations,” said Loffredi.
Many hours of work go into preparing for the book sale. “We like to have everything organized, “continued Loffredi. “At our sale, books are displayed by subject matter and books by recognized authors will be together. Our book sales have been wonderfully received. We encourage people to take their time and browse.”
The book sale is a semi annual affair with one in the Spring and one in the Fall and CAST welcomes book donations year round. Books can be brought into CAST (side entrance) during their regular weekday hours of 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. There is also a book box by the side door so books can be dropped off anytime. “We check our book box daily,” said Loffredi, and we’re always glad to find books in there.”
CAST is a non-profit cultural arts center and is located at 112 E. Locust Street in downtown Clearfield. The CAST Web site is www.castbuilding.com.
