Richard J. Marince, 76 of Knickerbocker Villa in Clearfield and formerly of Morrisdale, DuBois and Erie, passed away on March 23 at Knickerbocker Villa.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1933 in Philipsburg, son of the late Walter and Anna (Mandel) Marince Sr
He is survived by sisers Mildren Johnson of Lanse and Margaret Yancisen and her husband Joseph of Portage as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in deathy by his parents; brothers Joseph, George, Walter Jr., William J. and Patrick J. Marince; and sisters Mary Blasko, Helen Marince, Ann Marince and Irene Johnson.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Morrisdale; a 1951 graduate of Morris Township High School. He recieved his BA and Ma in education from Penn State University. He taught english at Susquehanna Senior High School in Harrisburg, was department head of English at Phoenixville High School and retired a Professor of English at Penn State DuBois. He was a poet, an artist and writer of short stories.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 22 St. Agnes Dr., Morrisdale, on March 26 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Robert J. Horgas officiating. Burial will be at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Morrisdale.
There will be no public viewing.
