DUBOIS – City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio gave council a list of proposed alleys to be paved at Monday night’s meeting. The alleys are to be paved with the Community Development Block Grant that the city received.
The CDBG program is meant to assist communities in addressing the needs of low to moderate income residents. It also helps communities focus on and address housing and public facility issues in such a way that it can revitalize and expand, which would result in development and expansion of job opportunities.
Council members were urged to look review the master list in order to vote on which alleys would be paved.
Suplizio said the alleys were primarily in the Fifth Ward. The paving in fourth ward is almost complete. Suplizio also said there are some alleys that need to be paved but there is also sewer work that needs done to those alleys as well. He said the sewer work would have to come before the paving.
