CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., has announced the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week for the week of March 15, 2010.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Thomas John Phillips, age 45, of Sarah Street, Osceola Mills, Pennsylvania. He stated that Phillips is wanted for failure to appear at a preliminary hearing on Feb. 10, 2010.

On Jan. 14, 2010, Trooper David Patrick of the Pennsylvania State Police, Woodland Barracks, filed a criminal complaint, charging Philips with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief.

An affidavit of probable cause, filed by Patrick, states that between Sept. 26, 2009 and Oct. 24, 2009, Philips entered a camp in Gulich Township without permission. Phillips then used the camp as a personal residence for an undetermined amount of days.

In addition, Philips consumed food and beverages while in the camp. Upon his departure, Philips left items of personal belongings in the camp, including a letter addressed to a Louisville, KY, resident.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 10, 2010. Phillips failed to appear for the hearing. A bench warrant has been issued for Phillips’ arrest.

Phillips is described as a white male with blue eyes and brown hair. He is 5-foot, 9-inches tall and weighs about 230 pounds.

Anyone with knowledge of Phillips’ location is asked to call Clearfield County Crimestoppers at (800)-376-4700.
