Nancy J. Carr, age 50, of 10th Street in DuBois, died on March 10 at her residence.
She was born on May 8, 1959 in DuBois, PA. She was the daughter of Carl and Faye (Scales) Youngman. They survive and live in Rockton, PA.
She married Douglas C. Carr on June 27, 1981. He survives.
She was a 1977 graduate of DuBois Area High School and was a graduate of Jeff Tech School of Nursing.
She was employed by the DuBois Regional Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She spent her entire nursing career at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. She began as a volunteer in 1974. She was an instructor for D.R.M.C. Smoking Cessation Classes. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the “Dirty Dozen” Card Club and she was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she is survived by two sons, Evan W. Carr of Burlington, VT and D. Ian Carr of DuBois, PA and one daughter, Abbey J. Carr of DuBois, PA. She is also survived by a brother, John Youngman and his wife Theresa of Traverse City, MI and three sisters, Mrs. Edward (JoAnn) Hauck of Indiana, PA, Mrs. John (Sue) Downey of Gibsonia, PA and Mrs. Daniel (Molly) Rupprecht of Allison Park, PA.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her father in law, William A. Carr.
Visitation will be held on March 12 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and March 13 from 9:00-9:30 a.m.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held on March 12 at 1:45 p.m. from the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on March 13 at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
