JOHNSTOWN – State Sen. John Wozniak, along with state Reps. Gary Haluska, Frank Burns and Bryan Barbin are again hosting an “Energy Fair’ in Johnstown to bring constituents together with experts on energy efficiency.
“Last year’s event was extremely popular,” Wozniak said. “The people of Central Pennsylvania are preparing to meet the energy challenges of the 21st century. Green technology will not only protect the environment, but also revive our slumping economy.”
The lawmakers are inviting area residents to visit the fair to find out more about saving energy, landing jobs in the green energy field, and helping their communities preserve the environment. The fair is free and open to all.
Organizers are still seeking companies, groups or agencies involved in the green energy effort to set up a booth at the fair to promote their products or ideas. The event is free to qualified exhibitors. The deadline to apply as an exhibitor is May 7.
“I would urge anyone who is interested in new technology and saving money to come to our Energy Fair and learn what is available to meet the needs of tomorrow,” Haluska said.
Fairgoers can also learn more about Pennsylvania’s Energy Independence Strategy, a series of bills signed into law that will provide loans and grants for businesses and homeowners to upgrade appliances, heating systems and insulation.
“Pennsylvania’s economy now depends on alternative energy. Our region has the opportunity to innovate in this field and lead the state and nation in energy-efficient technology,” Burns said.
“Keeping residents on top of the latest news in green technology is a critical component of our energy strategy,” Barbin said. “Now that the fair has become an annual event, people will know where to find the experts and the information they need to save money and protect the planet.”
Anyone interested in being an exhibitor at the fair should call Chelle Martin in Wozniak’s District Office 814-226-2277 or visit http://www.senator-wozniak.com/ to download the registration form.
