Mr. Michael E. Miterko, 79, of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home and formerly of Ramey and Philipsburg passed away at 4:00 a.m. on March 7th at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
Born on April 4, 1930 in Beulah a son of the late John and Agnes (Remeselnik) Miterko.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in the Korean War.
Mr. Miterko was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Madera, a Life member of the Disabled American Veterans, DuBois and a member of the Philipsburg VFW Post.
He is survived by three sisters and two brothers; Mildred Sacolick of Beulah, RD Madera, Mary Rose Olson of South San Francisco, CA., Veronica Kalke and her husband Joe of Maryville, TN. Leonard Miterko and his wife Jean of Streetsboro, OH., and Richard Miterko and his wife Barbara of Broadview Heights, OH. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Miterko was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James and Jonathan and a sister Catherine.
Friends will be received on March 11 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on March 12 from 9-11 a.m. at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Ramey.
Funeral Services will be held on March 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. with Igumen David Lewis officiating.
Graveside Services will follow in the Beulah Cemetery, Ramey with military honors being conducted by the Philipsburg Independent Honor Guard.
