STATE COLLEGE – AccuWeather.com reports a storm bringing drenching rain and thunderstorms to Texas Monday will brush the mid-Atlantic with a ew hours of wet snow Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Compared to monster storms that have hit the Northeast this winter, this one will be a mere nuisance for some and a no-show for others.
For the I-95 zone to the coast of the mid-Atlantic and New England, rain and wet snow will fall during the storm, keeping accumulations in check.
Motorists should expect delays, due mostly from wet roads. However, some people will have to sweep snow and slush off of their vehicles.
That being said, the storm will strengthen a bit upon reaching the coast, causing wind and surf to kick up for a time from eastern North Carolina to the Jersey Cape and later over Cape Cod. Winds speeds will not anywhere close to that of the “snowicane.”
There will be a narrow zone north and west of the storm track, probably just north and west of I-95 that can pick up a couple of inches of slush from the storm. The best chance for that to occur would be during the night time and morning rush hour.
