James F. Baughman, 73 of Osceola Mills, died Saturday at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.
Born on Aug. 1, 1936, he was the son of the late J. Finley and Mary V. (Jamison) Baughman. He was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church. He was the treasurer for the board of trustees of the church for 30 years.
Mr. Baughman was a member of the Columbia Fire Company, Osceola Mills, where he was chief for 13 years. He was He was a member of the Umbria Cemetery Association for 10 years. He served at the treasurer for the association. He was also the Fourth of July Parade Chairperson for many years.
He graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School in 1955. He was a mechanic for the former General Cigar for 26 years. He, however, retired from the former FCI, Clearfield. He also worked as a freelance photographer.
Mr. Baughman married Fay (Hanna) Baughman on Sept. 5, 1964 at the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church. She survives him at home. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Master Sgt. Mark D. Baughman and his wife,Michelle, of Niceville, FL, and the Rev. Paul W. Baughman and his wife, Karen Baughman, of New Cumberland. He’s also survived by a sister, Jean Smith and her husband, Jordan, of Osceola Mills.
Mr. Baughman is also survived by eight grandchildren – Matthew, Micah, Marcus, Malachi, Max, Andrew, Kalaina and Valerie Baughman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church. The Rev. Stephen J. Knitter will be officiating with the Rev. Paul W. Baughman. Interment will be at the Umbria Cemetery, Osceola Mills.
The family will receive friends from 2 -4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills. They will also hold visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
