William E. Matthis, age 81, of Osceola Mills passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Altoona Regional Health Systems Altoona Campus.
Born July 27, 1928 he was the son of the late James and Anna Matthis.
He was of the Christian faith and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He graduated from the Homer City High School and retired from General Electric in Euclid, OH.
He is survived by his wife Elaine Matthis; three sons, Mark Matthis and his wife Donna of Willoughby, OH, Martin Mathis and his wife Linda of Columbia, SC and David Matthis of Mentor, OH; a step-daughter, Gail Ruggiero and her husband John of Drifting; a brother, Wayne Matthis and his wife Rhonda of Indiana; three grandchildre, four step-grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Martin Matthis, son of the deceased, officiating.
The Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills is in charge of the arrangements.
