CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough is asking residents and business owners to do the following to help in the event of a snow emergency:
- Remove all vehicles from borough roadways so snow removal can be efficiently completed. In the event of a snow emergency being issued, Clearfield Borough has the option to tow vehicles from certain roads to allow for snow removal and passage of emergency vehicles.
- Shovel a three-foot perimeter around all fire hydrants and maintain clear sidewalks.
- All heat related piping should be checked to ensure they are clear for safety purposes as well as heating oil and coal supplies to maintain warmth for several days.
- Sidewalks and driveways must be cleared within 12 hours of the completion of the snowfall without the snow being placed on the streets and sidewalks.
- Assist neighbors and friends in clearing passageways such as driveways and sidewalks.
- All loose items such as garbage cans, furniture covers, grill covers, lawn decorations, flags, etc … need to be secured or placed inside a building to prevent the wind from blowing it away and onto the streets or vehicles. Loose items blowing in the winds can cause injury and damage.
- Due to the predicted high winds, any utility or electrical wires lying upon the ground should not be approached and should be reported to authorities immediately.
Clearfield Borough wishes to thank the public for their assistance and patience.
