CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre has announced the cast list for their upcoming production of ‘The Diary of Ann Frank’, which will be presented at the CAST Building, 112 E. Locust St., Clearfield, March 18, 19, 20; 25, 26, 27 with curtain at 7:00 p.m.
The cast for the March production is as follows: Anne Frank – Lauren Ammerman, Otto Frank – Jerry Stewart, Edith Frank – Lisa Gormont, Margot Frank – Rachel Duke, Miep Gies – Markay Boalich, Mr. Van Daan – Ken Coder, Mrs. Van Daan – Dulce Fletcher, Peter Van Daan – Michael Flemming, Mr. Dussel – Galen “Bud” Baughman, Mr. Kraler – Dave Howard.
‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ tells the story of Anne Frank and her family who moved from Germany to Amsterdam in 1933, the same year as the Nazis gained power in Germany. By the beginning of 1940 they were trapped in Amsterdam due to the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. As persecutions of the Jewish population increased, the family went into hiding in the hidden rooms above her father’s office building.
The play, Directed by Susan Loffredi, is based on the actual diary kept by Anne Frank, and captures the hopes, the fears, the laughter and the grief of the two years spent in hiding.
