CLEARFIELD – Area youth interested in auditioning for a youth show choir are encouraged to attend the upcoming audition at the CAST Building at 112 E. Locust St. in downtown Clearfield.
Auditions will be held on Feb. 25 at 6:00 p.m.  Those auditioning must bring a detailed list of weekly time conflicts. If the youth is involved in a sport it is important to bring as much schedule information as possible about upcoming schedules. Youth should also bring a list of any known Summer conflicts.Â
Auditions are open to boys and girls ages 9 – 16. Those auditioning are asked to bring a song to sing either on CD (backing tracks only – No main vocals) or sheet music. Those auditioning will also be given a short dance sequence to learn.
The choir, which will rehearse at the CAST Building, will be available for public appearances and will perform a variety of music.
Rehearsals will average once a week for two hours. Members will be responsible for memorizing lyrics from one week to the next. “The Choir will be active year around and once music is memorized the group may meet less than once a week, but may also meet more than once a week at certain times during the year,” said director Susan Loffredi. “Attendance at rehearsals will be important and those considering auditioning should be prepared to attend rehearsals on a regular basis and make participation in the choir a priority. The Chorus will be performing for the public and members will be expected to be polished and ready. Participating in a group like this can be a lot of fun, but it also requires a strong work ethic and a positive attitude,” she continued.
The Chorus will begin with twelve to fifteen members but that number may be expanded at a later date. Â
