CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Police Department took an Altoona man into custody for an incident involving a gun at a local drug treatment facility.
According to the LTPD, officers received a report of a man with a gun at the Discovery House on Airport Road. Police said an argument started at the clinic and one pan pulled his coat aside to show a concealed firearm. That man then left, heading west on state Route 879.
Officers got a description of the vehicle and located it along Park Avenue Extension near Lawrence Park Village. The Altoona man and two other men, all from Altoona, were detained. Police said that one man had an unregistered handgun. Police said the man did not have a permit to carry the weapon.
According to the LTPD report, this is just one in a number of incidents occurring at the Discovery House.
The man was placed in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. His name was not available at the time of this posting.
