Clearfield – With a 5-0 day and an undefeated 10-0 season thus far, the storied Clearfield Area High School wrestling team completed its “Stampede to 700” Saturday at the 2nd Annual Clearfield Bison Duals.
In addition to Clearfield picking up its 700th all-time dual meet victory, Head Coach Jeff Aveni picked up his 100th career win.
The Bisons advanced to the title match rather easily by going 4-0 in pool play. There they would face off with Montoursville, also 4-0 on the afternoon.
Clearfield had the momentum early jumping out to 16-0 and 22-6 leads. Montoursville made a late run, but it wasn’t enough as Clearfield held on for a 37-33 victory and history.
The Curwensville Golden Tide went 0-4 in pool play, but won their medal match against an outmanned Keystone squad 45-17, to end up in 11th place at the 12-team tourney.

Clearfield (10-0) will be back in action when they travel to district 9 rival St. Marys on Tuesday night.
Curwensville (4-11) will also hit the road on Tuesday when they travel to Brookville.
