DUBOIS – Police are searching for a male who broke into a residence and stole a number of guns and other items.
According to the DuBois City Police Department the incident occurred on Jan. 13 at 3:58 P.M. Police were called to a burglary on the 500 block of South Brady Street. When officers arrived they spoke with the homeowners. Officers learned that the home had been ransacked while they were at work between 6:10 a.m. and 3:58 p.m.
The person forced entry into the home through the west side of the home and removed a Kel-Tec 9mm handgun and a JC Higgins .12 gauge, bolt-action shotgun, a Wii game system, an HP digital camera, a half-gallon of Jack Daniels and about $1,800 in cash and coins. Police said the person placed the items in a large maroon, wheeled suitcase, which was also taken from the residence.
While at the scene officers spoke with a neighbor who stated that he observed a male wearing a thick, puffy, black jacket with a hood pulled up, pulling a large maroon suitcase from the driveway of the home onto Thompson Alley toward Shaffer Avenue between 6:30 and 8 a.m.
