MAHAFFEY – At Wednesday’s regular meeting, the Clearfield County Recreation and Tourism Authority approved the consideration of five nominees for board positions for 2009-10.
Board member Rita Hahn said the board’s nominating committee made the following recommendation: Nancy Micks – chairperson; Hildred Rowles – vice chairperson; Jane Elling – treasurer; Missy Rummel – secretary; and Joe Kendrick – assistant secretary and treasurer.
Board chairperson Wilson Fisher said the previously stated nominations would be voted on at the next board meeting, which is scheduled for 12 p.m. Jan. 13, 2010 at the CCRTA office.
Sandy Fink-Barrett, executive director for the CCRTA, said board members will also be able to offer additional nominations at the January meeting.
Hahn then indicated that her term had expired as well as those of both Micks and board member Lynda McCracken.
Hahn said Micks had already submitted a letter of interest about serving another term to the Clearfield County Commissioners. McCracken said she also had plans to do so.
Hahn said she hadn’t heard any “official word” from the commissioners about whom or how many had submitted letters of interests for serving on the CCRTA.
Fisher then recognized Hahn for her dedication to the board. He said she brought professionalism and experience to her position as both a board member and treasurer.
“It will be tough shoes to fill,” he said. He said Hahn had served on the board for six years.
Hahn thanked the board for their efforts to go above and beyond for area recreation and tourism.
She said it was a great experience to work alongside the board and the staff at the CCRTA.
“I believe you have great things, exciting things to come,” Hahn said. “It’s been a great pleasure.”
