UNION TOWNSHIP – A large, antlered deer was shot and killed in a wildlife preserve along old state Route 220 at 11:20 a.m. Monday in Union Township, the Philipsburg State Police reported.
According to the report, two hunters stopped along the roadway, near Bush Hollow Road. They stated that the two males fired three shots across the cemetery, killing the deer in a fenced-in wildlife preserve.
Police described the two hunters as ‘young,’ white males who were driving a bright green Honda Element with black fenders and roof. They stated they believed a suspect’s first name was ‘Ashley.’ They stated both person(s) were from the York area and hunting in the State College/Snow Shoe area.
Police indicated that the victim is offering a substantial reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
