FOX TOWNSHIP – Two teens were airlifted to the Altoona Hospital for treatment of injuries after a single vehicle accident along state Route 153 at approximately 10:15 p.m. Thursday in Fox Township, the Ridgway State Police reported.
Police stated that the operator, a 16-year-old Brockport girl, and her second passenger, Dalton Dickey, 18 of DuBois, were transported to Altoona. They indicated the girl’s first passenger, a 13-year-old Falls Creek girl, was taken to DuBois Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to the report, the Brockport girl’s vehicle was traveling north on SR 153, when she lost control of the same for unknown reasons. Police stated her vehicle traveled off the roadway onto the eastbound berm and struck a guiderail.
Police stated her vehicle continued in a northeast direction before striking several trees. They stated her vehicle overturned as a result and came to a rest approximately 35 feet east of the roadway in a wooded area.
Police stated that none of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing safety belts at the time of the accident. Their injuries’ severity was not indicated in the report.
Police stated the Brockport girl has been cited for careless driving.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Fox Township Fire Department, Horton Township Fire Department, Penfield Fire Department and the Ridgway and Fox Township Ambulance.
