BOGGS TOWNSHIP – Two area women were transported to the Clearfield Hospital following an accident at 8:30 a.m. Thursday along state Route 2024 in Boggs Township, the Clearfield State Police reported.
Police stated that both women sustained injuries of an unknown severity.
According to the report, a 24-year-old Philipsburg woman was traveling west on SR 2024, when Daneene M. McGee, 70 of West Decatur, was traveling east on the same. Police stated that the Philipsburg woman’s vehicle was negotiating a right turn, when she lost control of her vehicle due to the wet roadway.
Police stated that the Philipsburg woman’s vehicle was then broadsided and traveled into the eastbound lane of travel. The McGee vehicle then struck the rear driver’s side door of the Philipsburg woman’s vehicle.
Police stated the Philipsburg woman’s vehicle then traveled across the roadway and came to a final rest on the south berm of SR 2024. The McGee vehicle spun and also came to a rest on the south berm.
Police were assisted at the scene by Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services. They stated that the Philipsburg woman was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
