CLEARFIELD – At Thursday night’s Clearfield Borough Council meeting a motion was approved to advertise for bids for a Community Development Block Grant for a sidewalk replacement project.
Through federal stimulus money the borough received $32,000-$33,000 to replace select sidewalks. Those sidewalks were part of a prior list of prosepctive projects that were not able to be done during the last sidewalk project. They are looking for one contractor to do the total project. The bid will open Dec. 17. The actual project will begin in the March-April timeframe.
The CDBG program enables local governments to undertake a wide range of activities intended to create suitable living environments, provide decent affordable housing and create economic opportunities, primarily for persons of low and moderate income.
