CLEARFIELD – Bridge preservation work on the Karthaus Truss Bridge on state Route 879 will come to an end on Nov 20, weather permitting. The bridge is located in the village of Karthaus, on the Clearfield and Centre counties line.
Crews have been working since late June on preservation work that included bridge painting and deck/structure repairs. By the end of the day Friday, PennDOT expects to remove the temporary signal and ten-foot lane width restriction.
Francis J. Palo, Inc. of Clarion was the contractor on the $1.2 million project. Remaining work on the project will be minimal and will not seriously affect traffic.
PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions before heading out.
