CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield-based State Police are currently searching for the two responsible for a pair of area robberies between 3:30 – 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
According to the report, the person(s) arrived at Dimmick’s Garage, Greenwood Township, in a white colored, midsized van. Police stated that using a key, they entered the soda machines and removed the currency and cash trays. They stated that the person(s) left the scene and traveled north on state Route 219. Police stated that while the person(s) were traveling, they emptied the trays of currency and tossed the trays onto the roadway.
Police stated that the person(s) then arrived at the Grampian Fire Department, Grampian Borough, and repeated the same crime. They stated that the person(s) were observed by a witness who attempted to stop them. The person(s) were able to flee the scene, however. Police stated that the person(s) had the vehicle’s registration plate smeared in order to hide the identification of the plate numbers.
Police described a young, white female with dark hair. They also described a young, male, who was then wearing a dark-colored ski cap, leather jacket and blue jeans.
Police also urged businesses to be aware of any person(s) who use large amounts of change to purchase items.
