CLEARFIELD – Lawrence Township Board of Supervisors held their first budget meeting on Oct. 26 at the township municipal building. The Secretary let the supervisors know that the township will save approximately $25,000 because of the price of road salt and anti skid material dropping for the coming year. The price of road salt went from $85 a ton to $60.05 ton and anti skid materials went from $14.50 ton to $12.19 ton.
It was also decided when calculating the road crew wages and benefits that it would remain at two working roadmasters to over see the roadcrew as this has been working well and saved the township over $45,000.00 per year with wages and benefits. The next budget meeting will be held on Nov. 5 at the township building.
