STATE COLLEGE – First Thursday State College will celebrate the arts on Nov. 5, with a variety of exhibits, performances, demonstrations, and activities. Parking is free that evening at all municipal street meters, the parking lots on Fraser Street and on Beaver Avenue and Allen Street (across from the Municipal Building), and the McAllister parking deck. Most participating venues will be marked by sidewalk posters. All events are open to the public and admission to First Thursday events is free.

Palmer Museum, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Film: Alexis Krasilovsky’s End of the Art World (1971, 35 minutes) is an artful documentary featuring short segments with Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Michael Snow, Nancy Spero, Roy Lichtenstein, and others.
Penn State School of Music, 8 p.m.
Clarinet Studio featuring Students of Professor Anthony Costa in Esber Recital Hall.

At 4 p.m., “My Amish Education: From Yale to Hired Girl to Grandmother,” a presentation by Gertrude Enders Huntington, professor emeritus of anthropology and a pioneer of Anabaptist research, in Foster Auditorium (room 101) at Pattee Library.
From 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., the exhibits “Ice Cream U: the Story of the Nation’s Most Successful Creamery” on display through Nov. 7 in the main exhibit hall of Pattee Library, and “Maniere Dawson: Engineer/Artist,” a visual survey by Randy Ploog, on display through Jan. 8, 2010, in the Diversity Studies Room on the first floor of Pattee Library, will be held.
From 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. experience “State College: from Rural Roots to Happy Valley,” an exhibit from the Penn State University Archives on display through Dec. 31 in room 104 of Paterno Library.
