CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday the Clearfield County Commissioners received an update on what the county’s Community Development Specialist has done in the year since the position was created.
Jodi Brennen, director of the county’s development and planning office informed the commissioners that, as of Sept. 30, CDS Lisa Kovalick has brought a total of $2,363,498 in grants to different municipalities and entities in Clearfield County.
Brennen said that Kovalick helped these entities apply for a total of 22 grants, 10 of which were approved, two denied and 10 pending. She added that Kovalick has helped with programs ranging from housing to law enforcement.
“It’s been wonderful having Lisa on the staff,” said Brennen.
“We were really fortunate to get Lisa,” said Commissioner Chair Joan Robinson-McMillen. “I think this is something that county government should be involved in, grant writing helping smaller municipalities.”
