DUBOIS – A four-run rally in the fourth inning propelled DuBois to a 5-2 win over Clearfield in fall baseball action at Showers Field Thursday evening.
Four DuBois pitchers combined to hold Clearfield to six singles in the nine-inning contest, with Sergio Calderone earning the decision with two scoreless innings in relief of starter Nate Liddle, who blanked the visitors for three frames.
Ryan Conner also worked three innings, and John Georgino closed it out in the ninth.
For Clearfield, Jarrett Fulmer had a run-scoring single and Justyn Knepp added a sacrifice fly for the other marker.
Kurtis Krise was tagged with the loss. Ronny Ogden, who pitched three innings, and Tanner Ogden shut out DuBois in their final four at-bats.
Tyler Smith led the hosts with two singles and two RBIs. Brandon Palumbo also had a pair of hits.
Clearfield (3-6) travels to Osceola Mills Saturday to take on Philipsburg-Osceola at 10 a.m. and then goes to Amesville Sunday for a 1 p.m. double-headerwith Moshannon Valley at the high school diamond.
