CLEARFIELD – Local law enforcement agencies are currently advising all residents to secure their homes and vehicles, as their search continues for a Clearfield County Jail escapee, the Clearfield Borough Police Department reported Wednesday morning.
In a press release, police stated that they believe Michael Rodriguez, who escaped from the jail at around 2 p.m. Tuesday, may still be in the area and in search of transportation.
Police said that anyone who observes person(s) acting strangely or unknown to their neighborhoods is urged to contact their local police dispatch center at 814-765-1533.
Rodriguez is described as 6 feet tall and around 180 pounds. His mug-shot indicates that he has a tattoo on the right side of his neck, according to a prior GantDaily report.
Yesterday, Lawrence Township Police Chief Jeff Fink said that Rodriguez, who is from New York, was incarcerated due to an incident in DuBois City.
“At this point he’s considered dangerous,” said Fink then. He further explained that Rodriquez has an extensive history of violent crimes.
According to court records, Rodriguez is in jail on burglary and related charges.
