DUBOIS – Derrick Snyder and Tyler Jacobson combined on a nine-inning shutout as the Clearfield Fall Ball Team evened its record with a 2-0 win over DuBois at Showers Field Thursday evening.
Snyder scattered five hits over 7-1/3 innings to notch the victory. He struck out four and walked one.
Jacobson earned a save with 1-2/3 hitless innings with two strikeouts and no walks.
After walking and advancing to third on two wild pitches, Luke Peterson scored the winning run on Jarrett Fulmer\’s groundout in the fourth inning.
Singles by Snyder, Justyn Knepp and Robert Lombardo produced the insurance run in the fifth.
Billy Ellinger, the third of four DuBois hurlers, took the loss.
John Georgino singled twice and Mario Gregorio doubled for the hosts.
Clearfield returns to action Sunday against Bellefonte in a noon start and will play Jersey Shore immediately after that game.
