CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Sons of the American Legion held their annual meeting on Aug. 30. The following officers will be serving in the upcoming year. Dan Johnson, Commander; Dave Dunlap, Vice Commander; Joe Lefevre, Seargant at Arms; Perry Behling, Adjutant; Pat McGovern, Historian; and Ryan Collins, Chaplain.
The Clearfield Sons of the American Legion was formed nine years ago. The club has over 200 members and are active in various fundraising activities. Their most recent fundraiser was a Toy Run to benefit the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. They raised over $5500.
The group would like to remind the public of a chicken barbeque dinner to be held on Sept. 13 to purchase international calling cards for soldiers of the 82nd Airborne. Also a spaghetti dinner will be held on Oct. 12, in conjunction with the Clearfield Cycle club to benefit their “Project Santa” fundraiser.
