CLEARFIELD – A 28-year-old Clearfield man who was in possession of a hand gun at the Edgewood Apartments will face numerous charges, according to the Lawrence Township Police Department.
William Phillips, 28 of Clearfield, has been charged with carrying a firearm without a license, prohibited offensive weapon, burglary, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, harassment and public drunkenness.
Phillips was arraigned earlier today. His bail was set at $50,000.
According to the report, police were dispatched for a large fight in progress. At the scene, they noticed that Phillips had a gun in the waistband of his pants. In an interview with GantDaily, they indicated that the weapon fell to the ground.
Police stated at that time, the defendant wrapped the hand gun in T-shirts. He then ran and tossed it into a garbage can. They indicated that he did not aim the gun at anyone at the scene.
In their prior report, police also stated that another man who was involved in the fight was placed in the Clearfield County Jail for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
