RUSH TOWNSHIP – A 40-year-old Philipsburg man will face charges for aggravated assault and resisting arrest after his birthday party celebration got out of hand at 12:17 a.m. Sunday in Rush Township, Centre County.
According to the police report, emergency medical personnel were summoned to the man’s residence. But he attempted to assault paramedics of the Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services.
Police were then summoned to assist at the scene. The man then variously assaulted police and others at the party before he was subdued and transported to the Clearfield Hospital for treatment.
Police indicated that the man was still undergoing treatment early Sunday morning. They stated that he will be placed in the Centre County Prison once his condition has improved.
