Heartwood is set in central Pennsylvania at the turn of the twentieth century. It draws from our early timbering, tanning, and carbon industries, as well as the social and economic history of our communities. As it contemplates our traditions, landscapes, livelihoods, and cultural and economic contributions, Heartwood provides unprecedented arts, educational and social opportunities. More information about the book is available at the publisher’s Web site.
