Heritage Days Parade a Success

PHILIPSBURG – Over a hundred groups marched through Philipsburg today as part of the Heritage Days celebration; 15 of the 115 being bands.

There was some sprinkling during the several hours of the parade, but the rain held till after it was over making for good weather.

“This year’s turn out exceeded all of our years in the past,” said Jim Pollock, chairman of Philipsburg Heritage Days.

This continued the trend set by the vendors Wednesday where they have reported larger than usual turn out every day of this Heritage Days so far.

There was also a new route this year. The new route was designed so both parade watchers and participants would be lead to the down town events after the parade’s end.

Many parade watchers enjoyed it this year calling the event “good”.
