CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Police Department is warning residents of a new phone scam in the area.
According to police someone is calling township residents from the Washington, DC area. The caller is stating that they are with General Services. They are telling residents that the resident has won a large amount of money. For a small fee payable to General Services, they can get the large amount of cash.
The LTPD warns that this is a scam, and that residents should not give any personal information out over the phone.
