DUBOIS – Tyler Miles and Brady Bish combined for a two-hitter while Jordan LaBue and Kasey Clinton pounded home runs to lead front-running DuBois past Clearfield 8-1 in Jefferson County Legion League baseball action at Showers Field Sunday evening.
DuBois is sitting atop the JCL at 8-1, while the Post 6 Chiefs fell to 4-3.
Miles worked four innings to earn the win, allowing only a single by Derek Danver and four walks.
Bish finished up to notch a save, giving up a lone single by Justin Hoffman in the fifth.
He walked Shane Harper and Troy Danver and hit Hoffman with one down in the seventh, and Kyle Timchak followed with a forceout that broke up the shutout.
LaBue\’s homer in the third was the only scoring until DuBois got to loser Trevor Flanagan for four runs in the fifth. The big blows were Clinton\’s solo homer and Bish\’s two-run single.
The winners added three runs off Timchak in the sixth on an error and three singles.
LaBue and Clinton each had two hits for DuBois.
Clearfield, 5-9 overall with only nine hits in its last three games, visits Reynoldsville Monday and hosts DuBois Tuesday in 6 p.m. games.
