DUBOIS – The DuBois Chapter of the American Red Cross held a volunteer appreciation dinner and annual membership meeting on June 5.
After enjoying a spaghetti dinner, volunteers viewed a power point presentation of the past year’s activities. Executive Director Bob Newell touched on a number of the accomplishments of the past year. The relocation from West Long Avenue to the current location on North Brady Street, a Christmas Eve Blood drive held in the new office space, and the success of the Carnival were among the many achievements of the last year. Newell thanked all the volunteers and staff for a successful year and shared his high hopes for the coming year.
During a brief membership meeting, reports on the activities of the various chapter services were given. Several board members whose terms were ending were recognized including Ed Reich, Laurie Fitzer, Patty Donahue, Carlie Hayes, and John Ferraraccio. A slate of new board members were presented and approved by the membership. Those beginning new terms in July include Harry Howard, Dana Smith, Della Nasuti, Marly Doty, Greg Donahue, Tim Hockman, and Lauren Thompson. Those board members renewing terms include Marianne Konior, Marcia Belin, and Mary Ann Piccirillo.
Members of the DuBois Area High School’s National Honor Society helped with the evenings festivities.
