“I’m very proud of the district’s students, teachers and support staff. You all do a wonderful job,” said DuBois School District Superintendent Timothy Deluccia.
During the school district’s work session people from all three groups were recognized for achievements throughout the year.
Julie Brubaker and Wanda Wolfgang were both awarded the Support Person of the Year Award.
Exemplar Educator of the Year Award went to Rachel Smith and Cole Witherite.
Students Ella Glabicki, Landon Hanna, Rachel Smith and Cole Witherite were recognized for reviving American Legion awards. Glabicki and Hanna received theirs from the DuBois Area American Legion. Smith and Witherite received theirs from the Sykesville American Legion.
The DuBois Area High School’s yearbook staff was inducted into the Walsworth Publishing Company’s Gallery of Excellence for the third year running. Only 100 schools of the roughly 5,500 schools nation wide that publish their yearbooks through Walsworth get this induction yearly.
Sports teams were also recognized for their efforts. The track and field team, softball team who were 17 and 4 this season, the girl’s track team
