CLEARFIELD – At Monday night’s work session, the Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors indicated that James Quick, Jr., current interim principal of Clearfield Elementary School, would move into the position permanently pending approval at next week’s meeting.
Quick has served in the interim position since mid-December due to the resignation of the school’s former Principal Anne Herzing. He accepted the position at the conclusion of the district’s “in-house” personnel search.
Quick recently completed his 15th year with the district. He said that he taught for 13 years before stepping into an administrative role for the past two. He was an assistant principal at the Clearfield Middle School prior to switching positions.
The board also indicated that Fred Redden, interim middle school assistant principal, would also remain in the position pending approval.
Redden filled Quick’s vacated position at the end of last year. He was then a technology education teacher at both the middle and high schools.
If approved both Quick and Redden would be effective in their respective positions on July 1.
