CLEARFIELD – A Tyrone man accused of cruelty to animals entered a guilty plea on Wednesday.
Frederick Klepser initially faced two counts of cruelty to animals.
According to court records on May 4, 2008 Klepser had shot a man’s dog on the left side of its face with a .40 caliber pistol, killing the dog.
Klepser was interviewed later that day. He reportedly told police that he had gone to the residence to speak with the owners. While he was there, he told police, he noticed two dogs were tangled. He said he went to untangle them and that one of them bit him. He said when the dog bit him, he shot it.
Klepser entered a guilty plea at the magistrate’s level to criminal mischief and must pay restitution.
