PHILILPSBURG – State police in Philipsburg are urging the public to remove their keys and lock the doors of their vehicles.
Police stated that this should be done when leaving your vehicle parked for short and long periods of time, whether it is in the driveway or in the shopping mall parking lot.
According to police, most of the time this prevents the theft of items from motor vehicles or the theft of the vehicle itself. Police pointed out that during a recent rash of thefts from vehicles that the theif only targeted unlocked vehicles.
