ALLPORT – Members of the state police at the Clearfield barracks and the Morris-Cooper Regional Police Department will take part in an operation designed to help protect West Branch High School students on prom night.
According to police the prom is traditionally an event where the exuberance of youth collides with alcohol, drugs and inexperience behind the wheel of a vehicle. Serious injury and fatal accidents are often the result of what should be an exciting and enjoyable high school experience.
The goal of “My Safe Prom” is to prevent accidents and preserve life. PSP patrols will be dedicated in the area surrounding Curwensville between Friday and Saturday.
The Clearfield Borough Police Department will also be assisting in this effort through an aggressive driving grant.
