CLEARFIELD – The PA Accessible Housing Program is a housing modification program intended to assist physically disabled consumers in Centre and Clearfield Counties afford decent housing and avoid institutionalization caused by lack of home accessibility. The program increases the ability of low-income adults and families with disabled occupants to function effectively in their homes and communities.
PAHAP is available to families with physically disabled individual and family members who are residing in their home. The total household income of all persons residing in the home may not exceed the current Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8 Income Guidelines for the county (80 percent of area median income), or 235 percent of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.
Repairs to the home to gain safe affordable accessibility may include ramps, lifts, widening doorways and halls, grab bars, accessible bathrooms and kitchens, visual door bells, visual phone signalers, etc.
